brought to you by the Vermilion-on-the-Lake Historic Community Center
with the support of our friends at
the Lorain County Historical Society

The VOL (Vermilion-on-the-Lake) Historic
Community Center pictured here circa 1940,
remains today one of the only wedding venue's still situated on Lake Erie's
shore.
The 'VOL CLubhouse' as it has been called, demands only modest rental fees which
assist the effort to save and renovate this historic building. A sharp eye
will note the
48-star flag flying atop the flagpole, a pole that still today proudly displays
the current
'Stars and Stripes' 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
If you are looking for a lakefront wedding
reception hall, or a meeting place for as many
as 300 guests, that exudes character and charm while providing great views of a
once
magnificent and still breathtaking lakefront setting, try the link on the left
for the VOL HCC.
The Vermilion-on-the-Lake Lot Owners Association
no longer owns the "Clubhouse".
In 2006, the Association formed the Vermilion on the Lake Historic Community
Center
Charitable Trust, Inc. and transferred the property to the Trust by vote of the
entire
membership. Our revised mission includes
community
service,
involvement in the security
of the area through our "Block Watch" program and other initiatives,
and the general
promotion of the well being of the neighborhood and city. Our Trustees
also act as the core
Trustees for the VOLHCC Charitable Trust. The VOL Lot Owners Association
acknowledges
and thanks the Lorain County Historical Society for the guidance and support
they afforded us
while we transitioned the property to the Charitable Trust. We could not
have done it without them.
The Vermilion-on-the-Lake Historic Community Center
Charitable Trust
is a
non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation
formed
under the laws of the State of Ohio as a service
organization. Besides the restoration and operation of the Historic
Community Center,
our mission includes
providing a
venue for community fellowship and discussion, as well as
providing education to our citizens about the history and culture of our area.
We hope to
emphasize
the historic nature of
our unique
building and encourage the businesses and
foundations
tasked with preserving our
heritage, to lend a hand in restoring the Historic
Community
Center to its once
glorious
condition.
Volunteering: We are a 100% volunteer run
organization. No employees. No payroll. All funds
go directly to operation, restoration, repair and upkeep, or to promote
additional fundraising efforts.
